The Wolverhampton staff team

The team is in its third year. Together they have produced 5 shows over that time period with a group of around 40 youngsters of varying abilities all to rave reviews from the parents. The personal growth seen in some company members has been fantastic.

Mike Vickers

Co-founder and Musical Director has been interested in musical theatre for more years than he would care to admit. Having recently retired from a career in the caring services he has committed, with Anna, to creating a children’s theatre company which gives young people the opportunity to perform in professional venues, as well as develop their theatrical skills.
He is a qualified child care practitioner and life coach and feels that theatre is an ideal medium for young people to explore their inner selves and develop confidence. He is determined that being involved with Reach for the Stage should be a positive and fun filled experience for all members, irrespective of their skill level on joining.

Anna Vickers

Co-founder and Artistic Director trained at Liverpool John Moores in Performing Arts. She has directed for the Sheffield Children’s festival with Post-Opt Theatre Company and Transit Theatre Co. She has also spent time directing in America; running a young persons drama programme at Camp Farnsworth, Vermont. Anna has worked as a Theatre Practitioner in Sheffield and Manchester and is delighted to be involved with ‘Reach for the Stage’ she has directed over 12 shows for the company in Sheffield and Wolverhampton. She is also currently involved in the governments Aim Higher programme, visiting and performing drama in Secondary Schools aimed at engaging school leavers in Higher Education.

Vicky Griffiths

Choreographer started her dance training at the age of six, in ballet, tap, modern, jazz and acrobatics. She has taken many exams with the AAD and ISTD dance societies and has also participated in many shows and galas in professional theatres including; the Blackpool Opera House and the Coliseum in London. In 2007 she gained a BA (hons) Degree in Dance performance and Practice from the University of Wolverhampton. Since graduating Vicky has been working as a freelance dance teacher, working in lots of different schools in and around the Wolverhampton area. Vicky is also a qualified fitness instructor and cheerleading coach.
